RETROFIT JOBS ALREADY LOST

£5.3bn
Cut in fuel poverty funding
ECO4 and GBIS provided an estimated £1.7bn per annum for fuel poor households. Without a replacement for ECO, almost £6.9bn has been cut from the fuel poverty budget over 4 years, replaced with just £1.5bn from taxation - a real term cut of £5.3bn over the same period.
THE FUTURE OF BRITAIN’S RETROFIT WORKFORCE
DON'T DESTROY THE WORKFORCE DELIVERING THE GREEN TRANSITION.
The government has promised 240,000 green jobs by 2030.
But the reality on the ground is very different.
Thousands of retrofit workers are already losing their jobs as funding instability and policy changes disrupt the sector.
Small and medium-sized businesses — the companies that built the UK retrofit industry — are being pushed out of delivery.
If this continues, the UK risks losing the workforce needed to upgrade homes, tackle fuel poverty and deliver the green transition.
Save Green Jobs is a national campaign calling on government to protect retrofit jobs, support SMEs and maintain the delivery capacity the UK depends on.
